Field Operation

To obtain best harvesting performance at minimum power requirements, run engine at rated speed and use the largest roll clearance that is acceptable and the longest length of cut (see Section "Feeding System"). Always run engine at rated speed when entering the crop.

The kernel processor is designed to crack kernels in whole plant corn and ear corn silage.

IMPORTANT: If kernel processor is operated in grass crops, excessive power may be required and excessive wear or damage to the rolls may occur.

Therefore remove kernel processor when harvesting grass and install transition chute.

Roll spacing is adjustable from 1-30 mm (0.04-1.18 in.). The spring-loaded upper roll can move out of the way for foreign objects.

IMPORTANT: Do not operate kernel processor with less than 1 mm (0.04 in.) roll clearance. Damage could result if rolls contact each other, as rolls do not run at the same speed. Roll spacing should be the same on each side.

Adjust rolls to 3-4 mm (0.12-0.16 in.) for whole plant corn. If more kernel breakage is required, adjust the rolls closer together.
