Reducing Straw Chopper Rotation Speed
When harvesting corn or sunflowers the rotor speed should be reduced from 3500 to 2530 rpm.
To reduce the speed:
Open the large side shield (A) and the idler pulley shield (B) as described in Section "Service-Drives and Shields". Remove shield (C).
Loosen and remove belt (D) by moving the idler pulleys (E) upward.
Remove the drive pulley (F) and replace it with the 204 mm (8.03 in.) diameter drive pulley furnished with the corn kit.
Remove the driven pulley (G) and replace it with the 173 mm (6.81 in.) diameter driven pulley furnished with the corn kit.
Replace the belt, tension it and reinstall the shields (see Section "Service-Drives and Shields").
IMPORTANT:
Do not forget to re-install original pulley (F) with a 245 mm (9.64 in.) diameter and pulley (G) with a 152 mm (5.98 in.) diameter when harvesting other crops than corn or sunflowers.
