Examination of Straw on the Straw Walkers

The straw on the straw walkers should be whole and the pods, heads or ears should be completely threshed. If there is a large number of unthreshed pods, head or ear tips, check for:

• Low cylinder speed
• Excessive gap between cylinder and concave

If the straw or ears are excessively crushed, check for:

• High cylinder speed
• Inadequate gap between cylinder and concave
