Overthreshing

Overthreshing can be caused by high cylinder speed or inadequate cylinder to concave spacing.

Overthreshing can be reduced by lower cylinder speed. As a rule, reduce the speed by only 5%. Check the result of this change before changing any other settings. If the problem is not solved by a 10% reduction in cylinder speed, open the concave slightly.

If these steps do not eliminate overthreshing, try reducing combine ground speed. A very high crop volume can cause overthreshing.

IMPORTANT: Always check results before attempting further adjustments. Never change any adjustment by more than 5% at a time.
