Combine
Store the combine in a dry, sheltered area.
Carefully wash the interior and exterior of the combine. Powder and chaff fragments attract moisture and cause rust. To facilitate cleaning, run the combine for a few minutes with all inspection openings and windows open and the fan at maximum speed.
Clean with water, compressed air or a commercial vacuum. Clean the augers and elevators and leave the elevator inspection windows open.
Thoroughly clean the grain tank and unloading auger.
Coat the bottom of the feeder house with grease or oil to prevent rust.
Lubricate the combine according to the instructions in the grease chart.
Lubricate all joints and fittings that do not have zerks.
Lubricate the adjusting bolt threads.
Loosen all belts to avoid stress points. Clean and lubricate chains with oil or grease to prevent rust.
Clean the screens and grain pan with a good brush. Lubricate the fin joints with an oil can.
Disengage the header and place it on wooden blocks.
Fully retract all hydraulic cylinders.
Inflate the tires and place the combine on jackstands to remove the weight from the tires.
