Starting the Engine

causym CAUTION: Start the engine from operator's seat only.

Turn starter switch to position III to operate starting motor. Never hold the key in the starting position more than 20 seconds.

If key switch is released to position I before engine starts, wait until engine stops turning before trying again.

IMPORTANT: If engine does not start within 20 seconds, wait at least two minutes before trying again. Do not try to start engine more than four times.

NOTE: At ambient temperatures below 5°C (40°F), use the cold weather starting aid.

If engine has not been run for a longer period, turn over engine with starting motor until the engine oil pressure indicator light goes out.
