Operating the Cutting Platform in Downed Crops

Shift the reel well forward of the cutterbar.

NOTE: Always cut downed crops from the direction in which the plants are tilted. Otherwise the plant will be trapped by the auger prior to cutting.

The result is grain loss.

Pickup fingers angled as far as possible.

IMPORTANT: The distance between the pickup fingers and cutterbar must be 25 mm (1 in.).

Readjust the reel hydraulic cylinders. (See "Adjusting Reel Minimum Height" in "Cutting Platform" Section.)
