Auger Horizontal Position

For low-width crops, place the auger closer to the cutterbar. The material stream from the auger to the feeder house conveyor should be uniform.

For medium- to high-width plants use the position in which the auger is retracted farther in relation to the cutterbar.

IMPORTANT: Note the distance between the auger and scrapers. Locate the scrapers so that the crop does not wind around the auger. In general leave a gap of 2 mm (0.08 in.) between the scrapers and the auger. See "Adjusting Auger Scrapers" in this Section.
