Electro-Magnetic Straw Chopper Clutch
The electro-magnetic clutch is engaged via two switches (see "Electro-magnetic Clutch Switches" in this Section.). The straw chopper operates only when both switches are engaged.
The straw chopper clutch electrical system has its own current circuit via switch relay (A) and is protected by a separate 20A fuse (B) located in distributor box (C).
Should a breakdown occur in the electro-magnetic clutch (D) (electrical system defect), the clutch can be blocked mechanically for a short time.
Blocking Electro-Magnetic Clutch Mechanically
To block the clutch mechanically with engine stationary, remove both sleeves (E) and turn both screws (F) as far as possible into drive sheave (locating holes in opposite half are staggered).
IMPORTANT:
Permanent operation with clutch blocked mechanically will lead to serious damage. Should a defect occur, have the electro-magnetic clutch repaired immediately.
