Replacing Cylinder Variable Drive Belt-Combines with POSI-TORQ™ Cylinder Drive

causym CAUTION: Do not adjust while the engine is running.

With the engine at top speed and the threshing unit engaged, use the cylinder speed control lever to fully open the beater shaft pulley (lowest cylinder speed). Disengage the threshing unit and stop the engine.

IMPORTANT: Before any disassembly, thoroughly clean the area around the connector (C) and hydraulic hose (B).

Remove hydraulic hose (B) and connector (C). Loosen and remove the clean grain elevator drive belt (D) and the separator and cleaner drive belt (E).

Remove the idler (A). Move the support and bolt down and secure in this position.

Removing Drive Belt

Push the beater lower pulley half inward as far as possible.

There are three M12 x 150 bolts (A) in the tool box. Insert these in the threaded holes in the outer half (B) of the cylinder shaft pulley. When the bolt ends touch the inner half the two halves will begin to separate and stay in that position.

With your hand push the belt over the outer half of the beater shaft pulley (do not force).

NOTE: To remove, check that the belt is completely seated in the bottom of the cylinder shaft pulley slot.

Pull the belt off over the cylinder shaft pulley. Move the outer half of the cylinder shaft pulley in about 50 mm (1.97 in.) by loosening the three bolts (A). Remove the belt by passing it over supports (C).

Reverse these steps to install the new belt.

IMPORTANT: After changing the belt, remove the three bolts and store them in the tool box.
