Floating Drum
The distance between the floating drum (E) and the bottom of the feeder house should be regulated according to the crop being harvested.
A small opening for corn will cause the conveyor chain to "whip" as the drum raises and lowers as ears pass. This will result in an irregular feed, strip the kernels and crack many of the kernels.
Feeding will also be uneven if the drum is adjusted very high for crops such as soy beans or wheat. This could result in blockages which prevent proper operation of the separator and cleaner.
