Adjusting Variable Speed Feeder House Belt

B-Bracket
C-Rod
D-3,7 mm (0.15 in.)

To obtain 520 rpm front shaft speed for the cutting platform, adjust the feeder house drive belt.

Start engine, engage separator and move switch to fast idle. Slow feeder house all the way down.

Turn off separator, stop engine and remove key.

IMPORTANT: A gap between sheave halves is important so sheave halves can grip belt when in slow speed position. Cutting platform drive shaft speed must be at slow speed.

Check lower sheave gap for 3,7 mm (0.15 in.) clearance (D). If not correct, move belt idler to 25 mm (0.98 in.) from bottom of slot then loosen bolts (A) that attach the upper variable bracket (B) to the feeder house pivot casting.

Recheck lower sheave gap. If not 3,7 mm (0.15 in.) then move upper variable sheave assembly back with nuts on rod (C) until 3,7 mm (0.15 in.) gap exists between lower sheave halves, or until upper sheave assembly reaches end of slots.

Adjust feeder house belt idler to get a 3,7 mm (0.15 in.) gap (D).

NOTE: As belt streches, use idler to keep platform drive shaft speed. When idler reaches top of slot, above steps can be repeated until upper sheave assembly reaches end of slots.
