Replacing Secondary Countershaft Belt

Sound horn, start combine engine, idle at 1200 rpm, engage separator and increase cylinder speed to maximum, disengage separator, shut off engine and remove key.

CAUTION: Lower variable sheave is under spring tension; if belt is removed, it will snap back to a closed position.

Place a block of wood in sheave (A) opening to hold sheave apart.

Adjust nut so intermediate sheave goes up as far as possible. Belt (B) will have slack.

Disconnect hose (C).

Loosen secondary countershaft belt (D) at idler (E).

Roll belt under clean grain elevator belt and tailings elevator belt.
