When to Calibrate

The following calibration procedures (machine settings) must be performed before first use:

1. Header Width Calibration

  • For non John Deere headers a special harness kit is required, see your John Deere dealer.

2. Header Calibration Automatic Header Control - hdr

  • After attaching a new or another John Deere header.

3. Machine Harvesting Threshold Calibration - ACAL

  • For area counter.
  • For cutting height (for example sunflower harvesting).

4. Float Calibration - FLO

  • After attaching new John Deere header.
  • After attaching John Deere cutting platform without sensors in skid plates.

5. Concave Sensor Zero Calibration - conc

  • After servicing.

6. Deck Plate (optional) Sensor Calibration - dEc

  • For John Deere corn heads only.

The following calibration procedures (machine settings) must be performed when replacing any of the sensors:

1. Header Calibration Automatic Header Control - hdr

  • After replacing any of the sensors.

2. Lateral Tilt Angle Sensor Calibration - tiLt

  • After replacing the sensor.

3. Concave Sensor Zero Calibration - conc

  • After replacing the sensor.

4. Tailings Monitor Calibration

  • After replacing the sensors.

5. Deck Plate (optional) Sensor Calibration - dEc

  • After replacing any of the sensors.

The following calibration procedures (machine settings) must be performed as required:

1. Area Counter Enable Calibration

2. Field Area Counter Clear Calibration - ACF

3. Field Total Area Counter Clear Calibration - ACFt
