Checking Specific Gravity

Check the specific gravity of the electrolyte using an accurate hydrometer.

A fully charged battery should have a specific gravity reading of 1.28.

Recharge battery if reading drops below 1.20.

NOTE: A full battery charge in tropical areas is 1.23.
