Replacing Sharpening Stone

Replace sharpening stone when distance X = 2 mm (0.08 in.) between stone and bracket is reached at the point that is worn most.

causym CAUTION: Fan and cutterhead may continue to rotate for several minutes after the power is shut off. To avoid bodily injury, do not open or remove any doors or shields until all rotating parts have stopped completely.

NOTE: When replacing stone, make sure that removed parts will not drop into cutterhead.

Open cutterhead guards.

Apply grease at fitting (X) until grease becomes visible around sharpening stone rod guide.

IMPORTANT: Thoroughly clean the complete rod guide before turning back the sharpening stone to the home position.

Remove the ratchet stop (A) then turn ratchet assembly (B) clockwise as far as possible so that a new stone bracket can be installed.

Remove the four stone bracket fixing screws (C).

Place stone carrier above cutterhead knives so that stone bracket (D) can be pulled out as shown.

Make sure that new stone does not come in contact with the cutterhead knives.

Re-install ratchet stop (A).

Close cutterhead guards.
