Removing Cutterhead With Harvesting Unit
Lower harvesting unit to the ground and retract hydraulic cylinders for raising harvesting unit and harvesting unit float as far as possible.
CAUTION:
Fan and cutterhead may continue to rotate for several minutes after the power is shut off. To avoid bodily injury, do not open or remove any doors or shields until all rotating parts have stopped completely.
Shut off engine.

Install adapter plates (A) on cutterhead. Place hydraulic jacks (B) - minimum capacity 1500 kg (3300 lb) each - on adapter plates and insert pistons into frame tube sockets provided.
Pump up jacks until they are pressurized, but do not raise cutterhead.

Remove main drive belt:
Remove belt guards on right-hand side.
Engage hook at tension cylinder arm (B) into snap hook (A); lift tension cylinder arm by means of a lever, if necessary.
Remove multiple V-belt from cutterhead pulley.

Electrical connections:
Disconnect plugs (A) and (B) below operator's platform.

Disconnect metal detector connections (C) and (D) at electronics box and at cable and pull cable forward.

Move sending unit (E) (area counter switch) to vertical position to avoid damage to the sending unit when driving the forage harvester in forward and reverse direction.

Hydraulic Hoses at Reverser Motor
To disconnect quick couplers at return hose (A), pull locking ring to the rear; at pressure hose (B) pull locking ring to the front.
Cap openings to prevent contamination.
Attach hoses to bracket (C).

Quick Couplers for Central Lubrication System (Depending on Equipment)
Disconnect cutterhead quick couplers (G), (H), (J) and header quick coupler (K) and cap openings to prevent contamination (also refer to Section "Lubrication, Periodic Service").

Cutterhead Bearing Shells:
Open cutterhead bearing shells.
Turn out bolts (A). Use these bolts to secure upper bearing shells.
IMPORTANT:
Insert bolts only so far that they are flush with inner surface.
Position steering wheels of forage harvester in straight-ahead position and carefully back up harvester.
