Reversing During Operation
If it is necessary to reverse while operating (reaction of metal detector or slip clutch, wrapping of crop in feeding system), proceed as follows:
(I) Move ground speed lever into neutral position and raise windrow deflector.
(II) Reverse feed rolls and harvesting unit by pressing rear part of switch (A). Feed rolls and harvesting unit are reversed after a short delay.
NOTE:
Feed rolls and harvesting unit are reversed for at least two seconds.
(III) Reverse crop as far as necessary and move switch (A) to neutral position.
(IV) If malfunction has been eliminated by reversing procedure, switch on feed rolls and harvesting unit again.
NOTE:
With oil at operating temperature, feed rolls and harvesting unit will start operating again after 1 to 2 seconds. This delay is caused by the pressure switch at reverser motor. This switch allows the electromagnetic clutch to be activated when pressure has decreased to a level below 300 kPa (3 bar; 44 psi).
This pressure decrease is necessary to disengage the oil-pressure operated jaw clutch in the reverser motor.
After shifting from "Reversing" to "Forward", the start of operation of feed rolls and harvesting unit can be delayed when the hydraulic oil has not yet reached operating temperature.
When metal detector reacts, see Section "Metal Detector".
For removing wrapping of crop, switch off metal detector, disengage main clutch and shut off the engine.
