Checking Crankshaft Vibration Damper (Cummins Engine)

The silicone fluid in the damper will become solid after extended periods of operation, making the damper inoperative. A defective damper can cause severe engine damage and malfunctions

Visually check the damper for fluid leaks, dents, wobble and deformation. Make sure that the front cover plate has not risen.

If visual inspections indicate a problem, contact an authorized Cummins repair location.
