IMPORTANT:
Automatic stationary knife adjustment may be stopped by pressing STOP key on multi-function lever.
Readjust stationary knife each time the cutterhead knives have been sharpened. Adjust stationary knife twice each day, even if cutterhead knives are not sharpened. This will increase life of cutterhead knives and reduce power requirements.
Automatic stationary knife adjustment after automatic knife sharpening (cutterhead running in reverse direction)
First perform instructions given under "Activating Automatic Knife Sharpening" in this Section. After knife sharpening, press key (A) and then key (B). Indicator lights of both keys will be on. With max. engine speed and main clutch not engaged, the cutterhead is running in reverse direction. Adjustment procedure will now be performed automatically. As soon as correct stationary knife-to-knife clearance has been obtained, the indicator lights will go out.
Automatic stationary knife adjustment without previous knife sharpening (cutterhead running in forward direction)
With engine running at idle speed, engage main clutch. The cutterhead will be running in forward direction. Press key (A) and then key (B). The key indicator lights will be on and automatic adjustment procedure is performed. Correct stationary knife-to-knife clearance has been obtained when all indicator lights go out.
NOTE:
If adjustment of stationary knife takes a longer time than usual, check adjusting spindle end play (refer to "Eliminating End Play of Adjusting Spindle" in the "Cutterhead and Drive" Section).
