Function of the Electromagnetic Clutch

The electromagnetic clutch transmits power from the main drive (A) via cutterhead (B) to the length-of-cut transmission (C). With the electromagnetic clutch engaged, feed rolls (D) and harvesting unit are driven by means of shaft (E).

When reversing, the power supply of the electromagnetic clutch is interrupted and harvesting and feed units are separated from the main drive. When operating with the metal detector activated, the electromagnetic clutch is disengaged when ferrous metal is detected. This separates the cutterhead from the length-of-cut transmission (which is blocked by the pawl).

NOTE: At any time the electromagnetic clutch can be disengaged by means of the quick stop switch in the multi-function lever.
