Adding Coolant

CAUTION: Danger of scalding! Remove radiator filler cap only when coolant temperature is below boiling point (wait a few minutes). Then loosen cap slightly to the stop to relieve pressure before removing cap.

IMPORTANT: Add a recommended coolant (see "Fuel, Lubricants, Coolant and Capacities"). Never use a cooling system sealing additive. Never pour cold liquid into a hot engine, as this may crack the cylinder head or block. Do not operate engine without coolant.

Add coolant when the cooling system is cold. Coolant level must be up to the mark below the upper edge of the header tank.

Open shut-off tap (A) before adding coolant. This ensures that radiator and intercooler are filled at the same time. Close shut-off tap (A) after adding coolant.

IMPORTANT: The shut-off tap must be closed during machine operation.

When the complete system is filled with coolant, check coolant level approx. half an hour after filling the system. Add coolant, if necessary.
