Turbocharger - Cummins Engine
The engine is equipped with a turbocharger.
Check turbocharger attaching screws once a year and tighten to 61 N·m (45 lb-ft).
Check clamps at exhaust manifold, compressor and turbine housing once a year and tighten to 8 N·m (6 lb-ft).
Inspect the turbocharger every 6000 hours of operation or every 3 years. Remove the air intake and exhaust piping. Check the turbocharger as follows:
Look for damaged or cracked compressor or turbine blades. Turbocharger shaft must turn freely.
NOTE:
If visual inspections indicate a problem, contact an authorized Cummins repair location. Refer to the model number on the turbocharger identification plate.
