Installing the Power Chute on the Kernel Processor

causym CAUTION: Before adjusting the machine or performing service work, always switch off all drives, shut off the engine and wait until all moving parts have come to a stop.

Preparations

If the kernel processor is in its operating position, you will have to take the following steps before installing the power chute:

1. Move adapter frame of feed roll housing into vertical position.

2. Disengage the service cover/feed plate. To do this, pull the latches out, turn them though 90° and leave them in this position.

3. Take off the drive belt and press the tensioning roll as far down as it will go.

Installation

causym CAUTION: The power chutes weighs approx. 51 kg (112.4 lb). Use a suitable heavy-duty hoist.

Remove roller (X) from the kernel processor and screw it onto welded nut (Y), which is on the l.h. side-wall.

Engage the attaching straps (A) at the rear of the power chute in the locating pins on the kernel processor, then use latches (B) and (C) to secure the power chute to the kernel processor.

Use the chain hoist already on the forage harvester to move the power chute to its operating position, i.e. let the kernel processor engage in its "parked" position.
