Adjusting Knives
CAUTION:
Engine must be off, key removed and parking brake set.
IMPORTANT:
To chop corn straw and sunflower stems, all the counter-knives must be removed, but the counter-knife box must remain installed.
Knives can be adjusted to any position. Position of knives determines the cut length of straw.
For longer or dry straw , loosen bolt (A and B) (both sides) and rotate knife bank up to position (C). Tighten bolts.
For damp straw or weeds, loosen bolt (A and B) (both sides) and rotate knife bank between position (C) and (D). Tighten bolts.
For shorter straw (rape, pea), loosen bolt (A and B) (both sides) and rotate knife bank down to position (D). Tighten bolts.
NOTE:
When chopping with serrated knives, pivot the counter-knives slightly to prevent straw deposits from building up on the knives.
