Replacing Thermostat

Replace thermostat when it is suspected to be defective. Proceed as follows:

1. Take out cap screws and remove thermostat cover (A).

2. Remove and discard thermostat (B) and all gasket material (C).

3. Coat new gasket with sealant, and install.

4. Install new thermostat with the pin (D) on top for a proper filling.

5. Install cover, then tighten cap screws to 70 N·m (52 lb-ft).
