The fuel system must be bled whenever the fuel tank has been run dry.

Proceed as follows:

1. Bleed the fuel filter as described under "Checking Fuel Filter" in this Section.

2. On injection pump loosen fuel return line (A)

3. Operate the transfer pump primer lever (B) until the flow of fuel is free from air bubbles.

4. Retighten the fuel return line.

If engine will not start after this bleeding procedure, continue as follows:

1. Using open-end wrenches, loosen fuel lines on at least three fuel injection nozzles.

2. Push down accelerator pedal fully.

3. Turn over engine with starting motor until the flow of fuel is free from air bubbles.

4. Retighten the fuel lines.
