Tow Load Safely
Stopping distances increase with speed and weight of towed loads, and on slopes. Towed loads that are too heavy for the forage harvester or are towed too fast can cause loss of control. Consider the total weight of the equipment and its load.
During field use, the weight of loaded wagons to be towed must not exceed 1.5 times the weight of the forage harvester. As necessary, add ballast up to the recommended maximum for the forage harvester.
During road transport, ensure towed wagons are empty. Observe the maximum speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) or local speed limits, which may be lower. Never tow loads exceeding 3000 kg (6600 lbs).
Use additional caution when towing loads under adverse conditions, when turning, and on inclines.
