Terminating Resistors

Terminating resistors are located at the beginning and end of the CAN bus communication lines. The terminating resistors are required to reduce faults in the communication lines. There are two types of terminating resistor, namely 6-terminal and 4-terminal types. The two types have the same layout and serve the same function. The 6-terminal type also provides the CAN bus system with voltage.

The 6-terminal terminating resistor (A) is located in the loadcenter.

The 4-terminal terminating resistor (B) is located in the cab roof.
