Starting the Engine

causym CAUTION: Start engine from operator's seat only.

causym CAUTION: Sound horn before starting the engine to clear people away from forage harvester.

1. Main clutch switch (A) must be switched off.
2. Multi-function lever (B) must be in neutral position.
3. Place engine speed control switch (C) in slow idle position.

IMPORTANT: If engine does not start within 20 seconds, wait at least two minutes before trying again. Do not try to start engine more than four times.

NOTE: At ambient temperatures below 5°C (40°F), use the cold weather starting aid (see instructions in this Section).

Turn starter switch to position III.

As soon as engine starts, release key. Never hold the key in the starting position for longer than 20 seconds.

If key switch is released to position I before engine starts, wait until engine stops turning before trying again.

Immediately after starting the engine, check that this indicator light goes out.

If not, stop engine immediately and remedy the fault.

The other indicator lights should also go out.
