Replacing Main Drive Belt

CAUTION: Before servicing or adjusting the harvester, always disengage all power, shut off engine and wait until all moving parts have stopped rotating.

NOTE: To open folding guard (A) and all other guards, use a suitable tool (size 13 mm) or tool (X) (available through regular spare parts channels) or a screwdriver.

Open folding guard (A).

Remove guards (B) and (C).

A-Folding guard, main clutch
B-Side guard, main drive belt
C-Folding guard, cutterhead drive pulley

CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed by a doctor familiar with this type of injury within a few hours or gangrene may result.

Remove guard (A).

Remove hydraulic hose (B).

Engage hook of tension cylinder arm (A) into snap hook (B); lift tension cylinder arm (A) by means of a lever, if necessary.

Remove multiple belt.

IMPORTANT: When replacing, install complete new multiple V-belt set.

Never pry or force a belt onto a pulley with levers, crowbars etc., as this may rupture belt fabric and shorten service life. Always install belts by hand.

Always use inner pulley grooves when installing drive belts.

After installing multiple V-belts

Connect hydraulic hose of main clutch

Disconnect tension arm

Install or close guards
