Drive belts worn, stretched or broken; pulley worn. Refer to Section "Cutterhead and Drive".

Main clutch slipping

Check main clutch. Replace, if necessary.

Rolls worn out

Replace rolls

Ragged cut

Blunt cutterhead knives

Sharpen knives

Worn stationary knife

Adjust, rotate or replace stationary knife

Excessive knife to stationary knife clearance

Adjust stationary knife

Length of cut too long

Check pretension spring. Replace drive belt, if necessary

V-belts come off sheaves

Scraper not adjusted properly

Adjust scraper

Lower drive belt slipping or worn

Check pretension spring or replace complete set of drive belts

Excessive vibration
