Storing Safety

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable. Engine exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and can cause serious illness or death:

· Run the engine only long enough to move the machine to or from storage.

· Do not store vehicle with fuel in the tank inside a building where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.

· Allow the engine to cool before storing the machine in any enclosure.

Preparing Tractor for Storage

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Follow storage procedure anytime tractor will not be used for several months to minimize corrosion and deterioration.

1. Service the air cleaner.

2. Change engine oil and filter if needed.

3. Repair worn or damaged parts. Install new parts if necessary.

4. Wash tractor. Clean engine and engine area.

5. Drain fuel and add back 4 L (1 gal) of fuel. Then add 0.4L (12 oz) of stabilizer/corrosion inhibitor.

6. Start engine and run until it reaches operating temperature.

7. Add 0.5 L (16 oz) more storage inhibitor to the fuel tank.

8. Add 0.5 L (16 oz) storage inhibitor to the engine crankcase at the air filter/breather.

9. Loosen alternator/fan belt.

10. Remove and clean battery. Store in a cool dry place. Do not allow battery to freeze. Keep it charged.

11. Lubricate grease points.

16. Store the vehicle in a dry, protected place. If unit is stored outside, put a waterproof cover over it.

Removing Tractor From Storage
