Storing MachineStoring Snowthrower SafelyStoring Snowthrower2. Put John Deere Gasoline Storage Stabilizer or equivalent in the fuel tank. Follow directions on the can. 3. Run the engine 3-5 minutes with the auger ENGAGED. See Using the Auger Bail in Operating the Snowthrower section. 4. STOP the engine. Remove the key. 5. To help prevent cylinder corrosion, pull the recoil start handle until you feel resistance, then stop. 6. Clean the snowthrower. Wipe it dry. 7. Inspect the snowthrower for: ˇ The need for service: See the Service section. 8. Loosen the two handle knobs. Fold the handle down. You can hang the snowthrower on a wall hook. 9. Do not cover the snowthrower if the engine is warm. When Storing WITHOUT STABILIZER:a. Turn the chute all the way to the left. b. Tip the snowthrower forward and drain the fuel into a container as shown. ˇ Return the snowthrower to the upright position. ˇ Run the engine until it stops. Remove the key. Removing the Snowthrower from Storage1. Straighten the handle and tighten the knobs. 2. Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel-oil mixture. 3. Lubricate the auger bail and idler arm. 4. Check and gap the spark plug. |
