Using Troubleshooting Chart

If you are experiencing a problem that is not listed in this chart, see your John Deere dealer for service.

When you have checked all the possible causes listed and you are still experiencing the problem, see your John Deere dealer.

If

Check

Rotor Will Not Turn

· Worn or broken engine drive belt.

· Worn or broken auger drive belt.

· Broken shear bolt.

Snowthrower Operation Is Erratic

· Damaged scraper blade.

· Worn or broken belts.

· Adjust belt tension.

Rear Traction Is Poor

· Install weights. (See Preparing The Vehicle section.)

· Install chains on rear tires.

Lift Lever Will Not Lock In Raised Position

· Adjust yokes on snowthrower frame.

· Adjust yoke on lift lever.

Belt Wears Too Fast Or Breaks

· Adjust belt guides.

· Adjust belt tension.

· Check idler alignment.

Lift Effort Too High

· Move J-bracket lower.

Not Enough Lift Height Or Not Low Enough

· Adjust yokes on frame.

· Adjust yokes on lift lever.

· Move J-bracket higher or lower.
