Storing MachineStoring SafetyPreparing Engine For Storage1. Put John Deere Gasoline Storage Stabilizer or an equivalent in the fuel tank. Follow the directions on the can. 2. Run engine for at least 10 minutes to make sure stabilizer gets into carburetor. 3. Change engine oil when engine is warm. (See Changing Engine Oil in the Service section.) 4. Remove spark plug. Put 30 mL (1 oz.) of clean engine oil in cylinder. 5. Install spark plug, but do not connect spark plug wire. 6. Crank the engine five or six times to distribute oil. 7. Clean the engine and engine compartment. Storing Machine1. Repair worn or damaged parts. Replace parts if necessary. Tighten loose hardware. 3. Paint scratched or chipped areas to prevent rust. 5. Store the vehicle in a dry, protected place. If tiller is stored outside, put a waterproof cover over it. Removing Machine From Storage4. . Install and tighten plug to 20 Nˇm (15 lb-ft). 5. Lubricate all pivot points. |
