Service LubricationGreaseThe following greases are preferred:ˇ John Deere Multi-Purpose SD Polyurea Grease ˇ John Deere Multi-Purpose HD Lithium Complex Grease ˇ John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease If not using any of the preferred greases, be sure to use a general all-purpose grease with an NLGI grade No.2 rating. Wet or high speed conditions may require use of a special-use grease. Contact your Servicing dealer for information. Lubricating Front Axle and Axle Pivot1. Using a safe lifting device raise front of tractor so grease can be distributed around spindles. 2. Lubricate both front spindles (A) and axle pivot (B) with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or equivalent. 3. Turn steering wheel back and forth to distribute grease in spindles. Lubricating Blade Spindles48C MowerLubricate three spindles (A) with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or equivalent. 54-Inch MowerLubricate three spindles (A) with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or equivalent. Lubricating Gage Wheels48C MowerLubricate grease fitting (A) on each rear mower wheel with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or equivalent. 54-Inch MowerPull out on J-pin (A) and pivot left mower wheel to lubricate grease fitting (B), one on each rear mower wheel, with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or equivalent. |
