Avoid Injury from Hitting Obstructionsˇ Raise snowthrower when you drive between jobs. ˇ Slow down when you remove snow. Adjusting SpoutNOTE: When you blow snow from a rough surface, adjust spout to point down so gravel or other surface material is not thrown a long distance. 2. Move spout to desired position. Adjusting Height of Scraper Blade2. Pull hydraulic lever back to raise snowblower. 3. Put blocks under scraper blade on each side. 4. Lower snowblower onto blocks. NOTE: Both runners must be in the same position. 6. Remove two bolts from each runner. 7. Put bolts in one of the following positions: ˇ LOW POSITION: Scraper bladewill touch surface. ˇ MID POSITION: Scraper blade will be approximately 13 mm (1/2 in.) above surface. ˇ HIGH POSITION: Turn runner 180°. Scraper blade will be approximately 25 mm (1 in.) above surface. 8. Install nuts but do not tighten. 9. START engine. Raise snowblower. 10. STOP engine. Remove blocks. Lower snowblower to ground. Raising and Lowering Snowblower1. Pull SCV lever to raise snowblower. 2. Push SCV lever forward to lower snowblower. 3. Push control lever all the way forward to float position. Lever will stay in this position until you pull it back to neutral position. Picture Note: 670 and 770 Tractor 4. Float position allows snowblower to follow contours of ground. Turning Chute1. Push SCV lever to right to turn chute to right. Picture Note: 670 and 770 Tractor 2. Pull SCV to left to turn lever to left. 3. Chute should turn 100° to each side. Starting SnowblowerNOTE: See your tractor operator's manual for location and operation of controls. Picture Note: 670 and 770 Tractor 2. Move throttle lever (A) to one-fourth engine speed position. 3. Lower snowblower to ground. 4. Move PTO lever (B) to ON position to ENGAGE snowblower. Picture Note: 670 and 770 Tractor 5. Move throttle lever to FAST position for best engine and snowblower performance. 8. Blow snow at a safe travel speed. Stopping SnowblowerNOTE: If engine and snowblower are running, snowblower must stop when you get off operator's seat. If not, have the electrical system checked. 2. Put PTO lever in OFF position. 4. Wait for auger and blower to stop. 5. Lower snowblower to ground. Snowblowing TipsOperate engine at full throttle. Operate tractor at a safe travel speed. Slow down when you operate on slopes, before you make a turn, and when you operate close to buildings or trees. For snowblowing in drifts, drift blade will cut through drifted snow and help break down drifts. Blow snow downwind, if possible. Put hydraulic control lever forward to float position when you are snowblowing on irregular ground. Adjust runners for proper scraper blade clearance before you remove snow from irregular ground. Travel slow when blowing wet, heavy snow to prevent plugging. Clean snowblower after each use. Look carefully behind tractor before you back up, especially for children. Raise snowblower when driving between jobs. Do not try to clear snow from a steep slope. Do not operate near edge of a ditch, or bank. Keep away from drop-offs, holes, rocks, and roots. Watch for hidden hazards. Transporting Tractor and Snowblower |
