Removing Tractor Trunk (SST Lawn Tractors)

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Touching hot surfaces can burn skin. The engine and suitcase weight will be hot if the engine has been running. Allow the engine to cool before removing the front suitcase weight.

To maintain steering control and stability, remove front suitcase weight when you remove tractor trunk.

1. Let engine cool.

2. Open hood and remove front suitcase weight.

NOTE: To prevent loss of locking knob, bolt, and washer upon removal of trunk, install in drawbar support hole for storage.

3. Remove locking knob, flat washer, and 3/8x1 in. carriage bolt (A) from drawbar support and tractor hitch plate.

4. Lift drawbar support (B) from tractor hitch plate and slide support rail (C) of trunk frame back from side mounting bolt (D).

5. Install locking knob, washer, and bolt into drawbar support for storage.

NOTE: To prevent loss of mounting pins upon removal of attachment, place pins through holes in support frame.

1. Remove two 3/8x3/4 in. drilled pins, flat washers, and small spring locking pins (A), one on each side, and lift trunk box assembly off support frame.

2. Remove mounting pins (B), (C), and (D) and lift support frame from tractor. Install pins in support frame for storage.
