Service TransmissionTransmission OilNOTE: Tractor is filled with John Deere Low Viscosity HY-GARDŽ (J20D) transmission oil at the factory. DO NOT mix oils. These tractors are equipped with a internal wet disc brake transmission. Use only Low Viscosity HY-GARDŽ (J20D) transmission oil. DO NOT use type "F" automatic transmission fluid.
John Deere Low Viscosity HY-GARDŽ (J20D) transmission oil is specially formulated to provide maximum protection against mechanical wear, corrosion, and foaming. Checking Transmission Oil Level1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety Section.)
3. Check oil level on reservoir (A). Oil level should be visible in the sight window.
4. If oil level is not visible in the sight window, add J20D transmission oil to bring oil level to the FULL line. b. Clean around reservoir filler cap (B). d. Remove foam filter in oil reservoir neck. e. Add oil to bring oil level to the FULL line. g. Install and tighten oil fill cap. 6. Operate tractor forward and in reverse several times. 7. Park machine on level surface. Stop engine and check oil level again. |
