Storing VehicleStoring SafetyStoring Machineˇ Clean it. Check the electrolyte level. (See Checking Battery Electrolyte Level in the Service - Electrical section.) ˇ Charge the battery. (See Charging Battery in the Service - Electrical section.) ˇ Store the battery in a cool, dry place where it will not freeze. 2. Repair worn or damaged parts. Replace parts if necessary. Tighten loose hardware. 4. Paint scratched or chipped areas to prevent rust. 6. Release hydraulic pressure: Move hydraulic control lever back and forth. 7. Store the vehicle in a dry, protected place. If vehicle is stored outside, put a waterproof cover over it. 8. Put blocks or support stands under vehicle to take weight off tires. Let 1/3 of air out of the tires. Removing Machine From Storage1. Check tire pressure and fill tires with air. (See Checking Tire Pressure in Service - Miscellaneous section.) 2. Take machine off of blocks or support stands. 3. Fill fuel tank. Open fuel shut-off valve. Check engine oil level. 4. Check battery electrolyte level. Charge battery if necessary. Install battery. 5. Check spark plug gap. Install and tighten plugs to 20 Nˇm (15 lb-ft). 6. Lubricate all grease points. 7. Check transmission oil level. |
