STORING MACHINE


Storing Attachments In General

Check all hardware for the proper torque.

Apply touch-up paint where needed to prevent rust.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

Storing Snowblower

1. Remove snowblower. (See REMOVING SNOWBLOWER in the Removing Snowblower section.)

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! DO NOT work under a raised snowblower unless it is supported correctly

2. Clean the snowblower with water pressure from a hose.

3. Repair or replace worn, bent, or damaged parts.

4. Lubricate pivot points with engine oil.

5. Lubricate three grease points.

6. Put a waterproof cover over snowblower, if you store it outdoors.

Storing Broom

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! To help prevent damage to broom:

Don't let brush touch the ground: Use storage strands.

Don't store broom in direct sunlight.


Clean bottom with water pressure.

Store on hard, level surface in dry place.

Put stands in storage position.

Remove broom from tractor.

If you store broom outside, put waterproof cover on it.

Lubricate eight grease points. (See SERVICE section.)

Storing Blade Safely

Park tractor where you plan to store blade.

Apply a John Deere multi-purpose lubricant on exposed cylinder rod.

Apply engine oil to pivot points.

Store blade indoors on a hard, level surface in a clean, dry place.

If blade is stored outdoors, put a sheet of plywood or wood blocks under blade.

Thoroughly clean blade with soapy water and brush, or use a high-pressure washer.

Inspect blade for worn or damaged parts. Replace parts as necessary.

Put a waterproof cover over blade, if you store blade outdoors.
