Using Troubleshooting Chart

If you are experiencing a problem that is not listed in this chart, see your John Deere dealer for service.

When you have checked all the possible causes listed and you are still experiencing the problem, see your John Deere dealer.

If

Check

Not all the grass is picked up.

ˇ Mow grass only when it is less wet.

ˇ Mow at full-throttle.

ˇ Use a slower travel speed.

ˇ Clean the hopper exhaust screen.

ˇ Empty bags.

ˇ Clean out the chute and blower assembly (if equipped).

ˇ Clean out the mower deck.

ˇ Use correct mower blades that are sharp.

ˇ Level the mower deck.

ˇ Set mower deck at higher cutting height.

ˇ Check mower deck belts and replace, if necessary.

The Power Flow and/or discharge chute plugs.

ˇ Empty bags.

ˇ Mow grass only when it is less wet.

ˇ Mow at full-throttle.

ˇ Use a slower travel speed.

ˇ Clean the hopper exhaust screen.

ˇ Level the mower deck and use the correct cutting height.

ˇ Clean out the mower deck.

Grass leaks out of the hopper.

ˇ Check for damaged hopper seals.
