Using Troubleshooting Chart

If you are experiencing a problem that is not listed in this chart, see your John Deere dealer for service.

When you have checked all the possible causes listed and you are still experiencing the problem, see your John Deere dealer.

NOTE: The utility vehicle and battery charger function as a set. Always include the charging unit when seeing your John Deere dealer for service.

Lights

If

Check

Lights do not work

ˇ Loose or defective bulb.

ˇ ON/OFF switch connection loose.

ˇ ON/OFF switch defective. (See a John Deere dealer)

ˇ Loose or corroded battery connections.

ˇ Blown fuse in vehicle charger receptacle. (See a John Deere dealer)


Motor

If

Check

Motor will not run

ˇ Battery set power completely depleted.

ˇ Shift lever in NEUTRAL "N" position.

ˇ Park brake engaged.

ˇ Service/drive switch not in the RUN position.

ˇ Key switch not in the ON ("1") position.

ˇ Loose or corroded battery connections.

ˇ Charger DC outlet plug connected to vehicle.

ˇ Defective motor controller, or other electrical condition. (See a John Deere dealer)


Batteries

If

Check

Batteries low in capacity (Shorter than expected run time)

ˇ Batteries not fully charged. Charge battery set.

ˇ Dead cell in battery-check specific gravity.

ˇ Old battery(s)-check specific gravity.

ˇ Loose or corroded battery connections.

ˇ Electrolyte levels-correct if necessary.

ˇ Load test needed. (See a John Deere dealer)


Battery Charger

If

Check

Batteries will not charge

ˇ Frayed or damaged power cords.

ˇ AC and DC power cords properly connected.

ˇ Electrical supply circuit breaker.

ˇ Blown fuse in vehicle charger receptacle. (See a John Deere dealer)

ˇ Defective Charger. (See a John Deere dealer)
