Servicing Your Machine

Please use the following timetables to perform routine maintenance on your machine.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! If you operate mower in extreme heat, dust or other severe conditions, service more often than shown below.


Before Each Use

ˇ Make sure all necessary guards and shields are safely and securely attached.

ˇ Test Safety Interlock Systems.

ˇ Check engine oil level.

ˇ Check hydrostatic transmission oil level.

ˇ Check for hydraulic oil leaks.

ˇ Check tires for damage or cracking.

ˇ Check mower deck drive belt for damage or cracking.

ˇ Check mule drive belt for damage or cracking.

ˇ Check operation of park brake.

ˇ Check mower level.

ˇ Adjust cutting height if necessary.

After Each Use

ˇ Inspect mower blades.

ˇ Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts.

ˇ Remove mower deck belt shields-inspect and clean grass and debris from belt area.

ˇ Clean grass and debris from:

ˇ Operator station foot plate.

ˇ Engine oil cooler fins.

ˇ Engine air intake screen.

ˇ Pump drive belt compartment.

ˇ Engine cooling fins.

ˇ Hydraulic oil cooler fins.

As Needed

ˇ Adjust park brake.

ˇ Replace fuel filter.

ˇ Replace spark plugs.

ˇ Check tire pressure.

ˇ Replace pump drive belt.

ˇ Check and align motion control levers.

ˇ Replace mule drive belt.

ˇ Replace mower deck drive belt.

ˇ Sharpen mower blades.

ˇ Replace fuses.

ˇ Check and adjust reverse spring detent.

ˇ Check and adjust motion control linkages.

Break-In - After First 5 Hours

ˇ Change engine oil and filter.

ˇ Check pump drive belt.

ˇ Check and tighten drive wheel hardware.

ˇ Check and adjust park brake.

Every 25 Hours

ˇ Lubricate front caster wheels.

ˇ Lubricate mower deck lift blocks.

ˇ Lubricate deck lift pivot.

ˇ Lubricate pump idler pivot.

ˇ Lubricate mower deck spindles.

ˇ Lubricate mower deck idler pivot.

ˇ Lubricate mower deck struts.

ˇ Check battery electrolyte level.

ˇ Check pump drive belt for damage or cracking.

ˇ Check air pressure in tires.

ˇ Check and adjust park brake.

Break-In - After First 50 Hours

ˇ Change engine oil.

ˇ Change hydraulic oil and filter.

Every 50 Hours

ˇ Check air cleaner elements. Clean if necessary.

ˇ Check and tighten drive wheel hardware.

Break-In - After First 100 Hours

ˇ Change engine oil and filter.

Every 100 Hours

ˇ Change engine oil.

ˇ Check transmission drive belt.

ˇ Clean engine fins-head cooling passages behind cleanout plates.

Every 200 Hours

ˇ Change engine oil filter.

ˇ Clean and gap spark plugs.

Every 500 Hours

ˇ Change hydraulic oil and filter.

ˇ Lubricate park brake assemblies.

Yearly

ˇ Change air cleaner paper element.

ˇ Change fuel filter.

ˇ Clean battery.

ˇ Check battery electrolyte level.

ˇ Change engine oil and filter at least once per season.

ˇ Change hydraulic oil and filter at least once per season.
