End Of Season Storage

1. Clean engine. Clogging of cooling fins may cause serious damage.

2. Clean fuel sediment cup.

3. Add John Deere Storage Stabilizer or equivalent to fuel tank. Follow directions on can.

ˇ Run engine 5 minutes so stabilizer reaches the carburetor.

ˇ Run engine with fuel valve (B) shut off. Engine will continue to run for a few minutes.

ˇ After engine stops completely, pull toggle completely REARWARD (toward operator).

ˇ Change engine oil when engine is warm.

ˇ Disconnect plug wire and remove spark plug. Squirt 30 mL
(1 oz) of clean engine oil into cylinder:

ˇ Cover spark plug hole with rag.

ˇ Slowly pull starter one full stroke.

ˇ Install spark plug. DO NOT connect spark plug wire.

ˇ Pull starter handle slowly until some resistance (engine compression) is felt and leave in that position.

ˇ Store unit with engine base as level as possible.

ˇ Touch up paint where needed.

ˇ Cover and store indoors.
